    ThinkWell is an emerging health systems development organization that is currently in a major growth phase. While our core area of work is health financing, we take a health systems approach that includes human resources for health, health information systems, private sector engagement, and research and evaluation. As part of the USAID Bangladesh Advancing Universal Health Care (AUHC) project, we are looking for a Product Development Lead. The AUHC project will transition the management of 399 Surjer Hashi Network (SHN) clinics that are currently being managed by 25 NGOs to a newly formed social enterprise.

    The Incubator within AUHC project is responsible for technical and strategic advisory service to build, run and make SHN (Surjer Hashi Network) a sustainable private social enterprise. In the process of running an Incubator within the AUHC project, ThinkWell underscored the need for a dedicated team to lead on new product/ service validation, modern business development approach and re-defining way of work to support SHN’s double bottom line. Hence, Innovation function has been introduced to equip the Incubator and AUHC project with people who bring relevant experience from the industry to be able to advise SHN with all necessary business development support.  Innovation team is a group of top minds with core moto of functioning as a team across AUHC project to help management make decisions.

     

    Role objective

    You could be from a wide range of backgrounds, both those with advisory and business development experience and without, from a variety of industries. There is no typical background of a business development advisor, we look for the most talented people who have excelled in their field and each individual is assessed on their own merits. As an experienced professional and part of innovation team you will lead or assist in validating new business ideas through prototyping, piloting and may be in any other innovative way. Serving as specialist in innovation team requires agility, openness to learn and commitment to achieve goal in one or more key business development domains, e.g., Product/ service expansion, pricing strategy, project performance, partnerships, technology led solutions. You are the go-to person for senior management when it comes to validating business ideas, opportunities and making business decisions. Remember, we are here to help management make decision.

    Responsibilities

    Major responsibilities

    • You are a start-up minded person. You are interested to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to get the job done. As a part of innovation team, you will work with cross functional teams and will be required to influence more than manage.

     

    • Translate health related product and service strategy into detailed requirements, recommend best validation approach and take through validation funnel for scaling decision.

     

    • Gain a deep understanding of users’ experience, identifies and fills consumer need gaps and generates new ideas that grow market share, improve user engagement and drive growth through SHN clinic network.

     

    • Recommend the nature and scope of present and future revenue lines by reviewing product, service and business specifications and requirements; appraising new product/ service ideas and/or product or packaging changes or pricing changes.

     

    • Work closely with analytics and MERL team for projections and cut across system and partnership teams for building consensus.

     

    • Assess market competition by comparing the company's product, services, promotions to competitors' activities. Scopes and prioritizes activities based on business and user impact.

     

    • Work closely with system and design teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources. Drives product and services launches including working with relevant teams, executives, and other product management team members.

     

    • Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed.

     

    • Work closely with technical and functional teams, key senior stakeholders/leadership to execute and carefully monitor/report on the results of business engagement/deployment programs and activities; share key learnings with product teams and others; make recommendations about future improvements.

     

    • Develop a set of business engagement/product/ service deployment best practices that can be shared across SHN networks.

     

    • Connect with leadership teams and practice areas to ensure that the internalization of innovation practices is contributing with positive impact for key initiatives and strategic priorities and AUHC PMP.
