    ThinkWell is an emerging health systems development organization that is currently in a major growth phase. Determined to transcend the status quo, ThinkWell was founded in 2011 to provide bold, creative, and practical solutions to helping low- and middle-income countries achieve universal health coverage. While our core area of work is health financing, we take a “whole-of-systems” approach, specializing in five practice areas that intersect with health financing: governance, human resources for health, private sector, public financial management, and research and evaluation.  Current ThinkWell is a partner on the 5-year Bangladesh Advancing Universal Health Coverage (AUHC) project funded by USAID.  Within the AUHC project, ThinkWell leads the incubator unit which provides strategic and technical support to the newly established Surjer Hashi (Smiling Sun) Group (SHN), a sustainable pro-poor social enterprise dedicated to delivery high quality low cost primary health care services through a national network of clinics.

     

    The Business Analyst is a full-time position based in Bangladesh AUHC project offices in Dhaka, Bangladesh and will be responsible for providing expert financial analysis and technical assistance to SHN as well as policy advice on finance and operations manuals, policies, procedures and program guidance. This position requires strong financial analytical and quantitative skills, market research capacity and a solid understanding of the design, implementation of business systems. The candidate should have an established track record of carrying out analytical work and preparing high-quality technical reports and presentations. This person will also coordinate with other departments in the AUHC Incubator and Operator to coordinate and provide input in other activities. In collaboration and under supervision of Deputy Director, Incubator the incumbent will have the following responsibilities:

    1. Consolidate and analyze financial data taking into account SHN’s goals and financial standing
    2. Analyze SHN clinics and corporate level financial workflow for efficient financial management and integration of overall SHN management.
    3. Participate in developing the SHN Due Diligence tool, pilot test and finalize the tool for network wide implementation of Due Diligent exercise.
    4. Participate in the integrated SHN management system by incorporating financial management system
    5. Assist in financial management process improvement and policy development for SHN by identifying potential issues within the process and recommend solutions
    6. Conduct Due Diligence exercise following the Due Diligent Tool.
    7. Analyze and share with the Incubator team various financial model, options and alternatives to reduce costs and improve financial performance of SHN
    8. Track and determine financial status of potential and on-boarded SHN Clinics by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts / budget
    9. Conduct analysis of past, future and comparative financial performance and develop forecast models for SHN
    10. Assist in long term and strategic decision making for SHN
    11. Maintain detailed summary tracking expenditures across funds
    12. Perform variance and ratio analysis and report thereon for senior management decisions
    13. Work on improving various financial reporting tools and ERP system
    14. Review SHN financial reports, and communicate any findings to management
    15. Conduct financial trainings of the newly established SHN for smooth implementation of financial management system.
    16. Support in Business and Budget Reviews for different Profit Centers.
    17. Assist in generation of annual business plan / Cost Analysis for the organization.
    18. Any other task as assigned by supervisor.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    1. The candidate will hold an advanced degree in business administration, finance, or accounting.
    2. Minimum of 5 years of professional experience direclty related to business analytics and business financial systems.
    3. Strong quantitative skills, proficiency in Stata or another statistics software is desirable.
    4. Fluent command of English.
    5. Willingness to travel is essential.
