    ThinkWell is an emerging health systems development organization that is in a major growth phase. Determined to transcend the status quo, ThinkWell was founded in 2011 to provide bold, creative, and practical solutions to helping low- and middle-income countries achieve universal health coverage. While our core area of work is health financing, we take a “whole-of-systems” approach, specializing in five practice areas that intersect with health financing: governance, human resources for health, private sector, public financial management, and research and evaluation.
    The Corporate Communications & Design Specialist position, based in our Washington DC office, will provide in-house expertise to the programs and operations teams.


    Corporate Communications

    • Review and copy-edit publications, reports, presentations, proposals, and other communication materials for submission and dissemination.
    • Ensure all materials are branded and reflect the ThinkWell style and mission.
    • Implement ThinkWell’s communications strategy through web content, social media, and print and email materials.
    • Manage ThinkWell’s presence on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and other social networking platforms, in line with corporate messaging standards.
    • Update ThinkWell’s website by adding clients, posting new publications, and editing and posting blogs.
    • Drafting, editing, and posting blogs in collaboration with internal subject matter experts.
    • Coordinate with technical teams to ensure all new projects are added to the website and existing projects are updated on a quarterly basis.
    • Support new staff onboarding to website, in coordination with the operations coordinator.
    • Source and maintain website photo library.
    • Ensure all approved publications are saved to document repository.
    • Liaise with IT to ensure communications services meet staff needs.
    • Manage communications materials and tools on corporate file server.
    • Manage website customization, problem resolution and performance management.
    • Establish regular mechanism for tracking use and effectiveness of site.

    Design & Branding

    • Support the formatting of all publications, report, presentations, proposal, and corporate materials.
    • Serve as resource to ThinkWell staff for compliance with ThinkWell and client branding and
    • marketing policies.
    • Provide expertise on use of ThinkWell’s Microsoft Word templates and assist staff with use of
    • templates.
    • Coordinate the production of materials from design to final product, including planning, deadline
    • expectations, prioritization, design, review, and finalization.
    • Develop graphics, that succinctly communicate complex ideas and systems, for business development opportunities, presentations, and other activities.

    Participate in other ThinkWell communication initiatives, as requested.



    • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in communications, marketing, journalism, graphic design,
    • or related field
    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably with international development agency.
    • Advanced knowledge of graphic design software (Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically InDesign,
    • Illustrator, and Photoshop), layout principles, and aesthetic design concepts.
    • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and social media web
    • platforms.
    • Strong and compelling writing, editing, and oral communication skills.
    • Experience working with and adhering to corporate branding and marking plans.
    • Must be able to design various types of digital (email, web) and print (flyers, event collateral,
    • publications) assets and layouts from start to completion with limited supervision.
    • Strong teamwork, time management, and project management skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop “story ideas” for multiple audiences across varied media
    • Strong skill set in coordinating and communicating with a virtual team.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat required.
    • Fluent command of English; working proficiency in other languages (e.g., French) is an asset.


    • Knowledge of Google Analytics and SEO, content management systems such as WordPress.
    • Demonstrable experience in social media management.
    • Experience with copy-editing and corporate branding.
